My Projects
Video Work
I have written scripts and produced instructional videos using a variety of video editing tools (including Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Camtasia, and/or iMovie). This example is an introduction for a module on creating alternative text in a series on digital accessibility for university professionals creating content.
Full Course/iBook
With a collaborating faculty member, I created the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for graduate credit for teachers in Georgia. This MOOC, titled K12 Blended and Online Learning, was hosted on Coursera's platform. It was so successful that many more MOOCs and online courses were created by KSU staff and faculty and are now a known fixture on Coursera. Our course has recently been discontinued on the platform, but the iBook containing the full course is still available through the Apple iBooks store.
Learning Modules
Most courses and learning objects I've made are contained in an LMS or CMS behind password protection. I've been fortunate enough to learn to use a variety of authoring tools like Articulate Rise and Storyline, Adobe Captivate, SoftChalk, and most recently, CourseArc. I firmly believe that most authoring tools have the same functionality and once you master one, it is easy to figure out another. The example to the left was created in CourseArc, and screenshots show the entire lesson. This is a high school Earth Science course. Note the amount of visuals, ample opportunities for self-assessment and practice, and option for enrichment/further study.
Marketing Collaborations
As the product team, we often make "concept" or product videos to showcase features of our products. Marketing takes these videos and develops them into professional videos ready for the world at large! I wrote, edited, and published the videos to the left. One of my instructional designers provided the voice.
